2,300 m micropiles Ø 114,3 x 10 mm for the Groote Museum Artis

The Groote Museum in Amsterdam is the oldest and most impressive ARTIS building. It is also on the oldest ARTIS site: the outer Middenhof. Just half a hectare in size, this lot was acquired in 1838 by the founders Westerman, Werlemann and Wijsmuller (‘the three W’s’). Because ARTIS’s initial collection consisted mainly of stuffed animals and fluid-preserved specimens, ARTIS was able to establish a small museum within a year, although not much more than a wooden barrack. Thanks to a...

Solines supplies pipes for a railway crossing

Solines supplied pipes for the foundation of traffic lights and barriers for a railway crossing. The unique thing about this project is that the foundation had to be placed in soil with very little bearing capacity. In order to guarantee the stability of the foundation, a hole was first drilled in the soil with a diameter of around 813 mm. This hole had to be 11 meters deep, in order to achieve an underlayer that had to be sufficiently strong. A...
