Project: Steel mooring posts in Krimpenerwaard

Steel mooring tubes Ø 1,016 x 17.50 mm for a waterworks project in Krimpenerwaard

For the KIJK project – Krachtige IJsseldijken Krimpenerwaard – Solines supplied, on behalf of the joint venture Van Hattum en Blankevoort and Boskalis Nederland, four robust steel tubes with a diameter of 1,016.0 millimetres and a wall thickness of 17.50 millimetres. Each tube was custom-assembled from two segments, precisely welded together with circumferential welds. The final length of each assembled tube is 21.3 metres.

With a combined length of over 85 metres and a total weight of nearly 37 tonnes, these four assembled steel tubes are used as mooring posts, forming a durable and stable mooring facility designed for permanent use after the project’s completion.

Thanks to our expertise in welding and custom-assembling large steel tubes, Solines was able to deliver quickly and accurately. The result: a practical and reliable solution that fully meets the requirements of this project.
