Steel foundation tubes for noise barriers along the A27

For the construction of new noise barriers along the A27, between Raamsdonkveer and Utrecht, Solines B.V. supplied steel tubes cut exactly to size and compliant with all requirements for use in infrastructure projects.

For this project, Solines supplied a total of approximately 2,100 meters, amounting to over 200 tons, of steel tubes in steel grade S355, all provided with a 3.1 certificate.

The majority consisted of Ø 508.0 × 8.0 mm tubes, cut to lengths between 2.5 and 5 meters. In addition, Ø 610.0 × 8.0 mm was supplied in 5-meter lengths, used at the more heavily loaded positions within the foundation line. All tubes were newly produced specifically for this project and delivered directly from the mill.

The supplied tubes provide a stable basis for the new noise barriers. Thanks to the correct diameters, high material strength and precise dimensions, they fully meet the load requirements along this section. The timely delivery and accurate cutting work contributed to smooth progress of the works along the A27.
