Over 17 Metric Tons of L235 Steel Tubes Ø 219.1 x 3.20 Millimeters
This week, Solines BV in Moerdijk is highlighting an interesting stock lot. It comprises more than 1,000 meters of longitudinally welded steel tubes Ø 219.1 x 3.20 millimeters in steel grade L235. The tubes have standard lengths of approximately 12,000 millimeters, represent a combined weight of more than 17 metric tons, and are available for immediate delivery from Solines BV stock. With a wall thickness of 3.20 millimeters, these are thin-walled structural tubes intended for light-duty and secondary applications.
The diameter-to-wall-thickness ratio makes these structural tubes particularly suitable for fabricated frames, light-duty industrial steel structures, protective guards, enclosures, posts, and lightly loaded steel columns. In civil engineering and infrastructure projects, they may also be used as protective tubes or sleeves for cables and utility lines where external loads are limited. Lightweight machinery frames, supports, and equipment-support structures are other potential applications. Every structural use requires a project-specific assessment to verify that the 3.20-millimeter wall thickness, connection method, and applied loads are compatible with the design.
Solines Welding & Construction can cut the tubes Ø 219.1 x 3.20 millimeters to length, weld them, and cold-form the ends to create a tromped connection. This process is feasible at this wall thickness, allowing tube sections to telescope and be joined efficiently. Depending on the design and application, the tubes can be provided with beveled ends, base plates, end plates, flanges, drill points, drilling heads, pile tips, or structural plates.
