This week, Solines BV in Moerdijk is highlighting an interesting stock lot of longitudinally welded steel tubes Ø 660.0 x 9.75 millimeters in steel grade S235JR in accordance with EN 10219. The tubes have a standard length of 12,000 millimeters. The total stock comprises nearly 950 meters and weighs approximately 148 metric tons. These large structural tubes are available for immediate delivery from stock.
Subject to structural calculations, steel tubes Ø 660.0 x 9.75 millimeters can be used as steel tube piles and foundation tubes for civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Depending on the project specifications, they can also be used as casing tubes in foundation construction, strut tubes for temporary support systems, or steel columns in load-bearing structures. In marine construction, these structural tubes may be used for guide structures, fender systems, and other foundation structures, provided that loads, soil conditions, connections, installation methods, and corrosion exposure have been assessed beforehand.
Solines Welding & Construction can accurately cut these steel tubes to the required length, as the diameter is within its maximum saw-cutting capacity of Ø 820 millimeters. Beveled ends and weld preparations are also possible. Tube-end swaging is unavailable because the maximum swaging capacity is Ø 508 millimeters. Following a technical review, the tubes can be extended with a circumferential weld or fitted with components such as base plates, flanges, or structural plates. All welding is performed by experienced, certified welders.
